Light a Lamp

In the wee hours of the morning, I crawl from my very warm bed, leaving a sad 8 year old son who really wanted some snuggle time and stumble to the kitchen.  My memory verse for the first two weeks of February is Matthew 5:15:

"No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket.  Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house."  New Living Translation

Yesterday, I created some personal space.  It is wonderful.  It is peaceful.  It is a physical reminder for me to put Him first in all I do; especially my computer time (facebook, pintrest, twitter, blogs) that I've allowed to consume so much of my time - my life.

As the sun shines through our windows and skylight, the candle does not change.  The light it gives off may not be as evident as it is when it is dark; but it is there, burning for all enter to see.

Do you have a space set aside that is a physical reminder of Him throughout your day?  What is it?  When I went to work, I had many things around me on my desk to remind me of Him.  While I have many things that are a blessing in our home, the simple act of lighting this candle and reading through my memory verse a few times and starting my day in communion with Him is just what The Doctor ordered for this sick patient.
