Kidz Playin'!

Great news!!!! Stella is finally enjoying her new brother, Zorro. Here are some pictures of them playing together:

She loves to get up on the couch or our bed so she's "bigger." It's so fun to watch them play together.

On Sunday, we needed to kennel Stella since we'd be at church for hours and she started crying... so we let Zorro stay in the room with her and it was so sweet.... Roy snuck back in and Zorro was laying in front of ther kennel door and she wasn't crying. Thankfully, we haven't gone anywhere else at one time so that's the only time she's been cooped up. She's adjusting slowly to the little boys and not at all to Reggie yet. She can even growl while eating her food from his hand! She's a good girl and I love her so much!!!

And occasionaly, she'll even lay on her bed, very near me but a tad warmer on the carpet:

I'm not why Roy isn't smiling. We have our hands full with both dogs together right now. Zorro is still more excited to have Stella than she him. They are having some short lived play times, so that is progress. Here is a picture of Zorro next to the bed and Stella IN our bed.

Night #2: Much better. Slept all night long with my baby girl snuggled up to me. She even did well when Paco came to bed with us at 6 AM... gave him kisses but then burrowed back down to snuggle with me.

She doesn't like men and it's taking her a while to warm up to Reggie. She has a thing with glasses and facial hair. While Reggie doesn't have either, he does have hair! And perhaps she can't tell if it's on his face or not. ha. And Reggie is a big boy so it is obvious she is very intimidated by him. Poor Reggie! He's the gentlest giant! Most of these relationships are on Stella's terms so... we'll see how quickly she warms up to all these men in our lives.

As for the little boys - keep praying she warms up to them! It's so hard for Paco & Javi to "ignore her" as I keep telling them. :( Soon, we pray. Soon.

Stella is a little over a year old and I am so excited to welcome her into our family. And now, let me introduce her to you...

Stay tuned for Stella updates as we all adjust to a new family member. As for Zorro and Stella... well let's just say, Zorro is WAY more excited to have Stella than the other way around. For now. We're hopeful they'll be buds before we know it.

Stella is a true rescue. She was rescued as a tiny pup from a horrendous life. Her last adopted family loves her so much but due to some circumstances in their lives, needed to find a different home for her.... that's where we fit into the picture!

24 hours ago, I got the first call that Stella was needing a home and here I am, blogging about my new baby girl while she naps on her bed next to my feet.

Finally, my Doxie days have begun again. Praise the Lord! These are the two breeds of dogs I had growing up - Black Lab, "Blackie" and my Doxie "Snitzy."
