My Big Boy

Stickers!

My big boy is officially potty trained. After going 3 months with an accident here and there, he has not had even ONE accident the entire month of April so far (knock on wood!). He even wakes up dry most mornings though I am too lazy to NOT put a pull-up on him at night. I just can't imagine changing sheets and clothes in the middle of the night on top of our night nursings with Javier.

Here is my big boy this morning headed out to "trabajando" with his Daddy. (That's working in Spanish). They are headed to measure some jobs and then will head to the hills, Garden Valley, to work on a roof there. He is a big help, as you can imagine. To assist with the helper, Uncle Frankie goes with them and he and Paco help as much as they can.

He's growing up so fast. I can't believe he'll be 3 in a month. Man oh man.

ETA: here is what they actually do when they're on the job! That is a "boot" for a roof pipe:

My Bikers

Antonio LOVES LOVES LOVES his Granddad. His new love is riding the motorcycle with Granddad. Now that he has his very own "real" helmet, he can actually go on real rides with him! This was taken yesterday when they showed up at my house to have me take a picture of them with their matching biker green coats and notice Paco's badge (from Granddad's funeral escort rides). Paco enjoys riding in front so he can "help Granddad drive." Also, they tried him riding in back but he said the wind was cold and "I can't breathe." so they moved him back up front. The wind was taking his breath away, I guess. ??? I also think Paco likes being able to change the music stations and can see better. Granddad said he could drive as fast as he wanted and Little Man loved it!!! (Does a mother want to hear this???) If I didn't love riding myself, I might be nervous but having started as early as this, I can't say anything now.
I overheard my Dad telling a friend who was down that grandkids give new meaning to life and make living worthwhile. Thanks, Dad. How blessed my children are to have you in their lives.

One Month Old Comparrisons

I really thought Paco was a chunkier baby than Javier but after weighing Javi today, I guess not! Little Javier weighs 11 lbs. 4 oz and Paco weighed 11 lbs. 5 oz at a month. What I can't remember is if Paco's weight was from the doctor's office or from Cliff's where I took Javi today.
(Cliff's is the local market with a digital produce scale. I don't undress the boys but have them wear one layer and a dry diaper.)

Anyway, here is Paco when he was a around the same age as Javier with Granddad:

Not to be outdone, protective big brother Paco must kiss Javi

Happenings

The BUNNYThis is a stray bunny that has decided he likes our home. We have found him several places and Antonio loves looking for him. He has high hopes of catching him but I'm hoping he doesn't!
Water in the Ditch

The time has come all too soon - we have water flowing in the irrigation ditch that runs around our home. This picture was taken from the bridge that we cross to get to our home and the ditch runs to the east of our yard, as well. Please add Paco's safety to your prayers!!! We will have him in swim lessons in May but we're terrified that he will discover this new adventure and explore in ways only toddler boys do - all or nothing.

Sweet Javier Don

I can't believe my baby is a month old already! 4 weeks came so fast and it's time I'll never have with him again!! It's so different with him than Paco. I took Paco to the market each week to get weighed as despite my good intentions, haven't made it to Cliff's one time with Javi yet!!!

Different doesn't mean bad or worse - just not the same. How could it be, though? Did I think it would be? I guess I did or else I wouldn't be comparing, right?
