Northwest Vacation

Last Wednesday, the kids, my Mom and I loaded up into our Suburban and headed to the great Northwest! We have had a great week so far, seeing friends and family along the way.

Our dear friends, Pete & Nancy, hosted us for 3 nights in their home in Olympia. Actually, we took over their home! They gave us their house and they moved in with their son while we were there!!! Talk about giving, huh?! It was a great time. Cool weather that I'd love to see some of today, scenic drives to Port Orchard to see our dear friend, Doris, lunches out, parks to play at/on and coffee to drink!

A day of haircuts, and boy do I mean haircuts was held, too!

On Saturday, we found the Woodburn Outlet Mall and had a great 4 hours of school shopping time. That evening we made it to McMinnville, the city my Mother was born in, and where her sister still lives. A nice supper with family and then off to the mountains of Panther Creek!

Sunday brought more coffee, scenic drives and visits plus a little detour to see where my Mom's brother is buried. Then we landed in Newberg where we will stay this week.

We left my DH home working, getting stung by wasps working in the recycling (poor thing!!!) and taking care of Zorro.

Good times for sure!

Yearly Meeting Time!

It's July and that means Yearly Meeting Sessions in Newberg, Oregon! It's hot-hot-hot here, similar to home but more humid. Last year, I blogged a little and am excited about our little guy Roosbell. I can't believe it's already been a year but I do feel that I lived this past year differently - better - for Christ. I seek ways to serve God more. I try to have quiet time daily with him... try.

And here I am again, sitting in a dorm room on the gorgeous George Fox campus, blogging. Life really is grand.

I was excited to meet up with my new friend Patty and learn more about the ministry she is involved with: Peace Through Pieces. I was even more excited to talk her into coming to visit us and share with our area meetings what is happening with Peace Through Pieces and THARS. Plus, I am honored to have some bags made by the quilters in Africa to sell at home!!! YEAH!

I've made some new friends and visited with some long-time friends and it's been a great day so far!

Woof

We have a new woof. You may say roof but it's so much cuter listening to my 2 year old say woof.

My DH walking on our gorgeous copper penny standing seam panels.

Workers consisting of Roy, my Dad and Frankie, Roy's brother. Hey, when you don't pay you take what you can get! ;)

Here "we" are lifting 30' panels up = not an easy task. Thankfully, we had Troy and Reggie to help man the panels.

30' of the standing seam panels!

I got up on the woof to take some pictures but boy howdy, it didn't take me long before I wanted down!!!
The awesome thing about standing seam is you don't see the screws in the panels. See how they overlap and lock into place? Very nice. Very very nice. And it looks great!!!
You, too, could have a standing seam woof! This is what we do! Rockin Roofers, we are. ha!
