So busy...

Just wanted to let you all know that I am still here. Just swamped. Besides normal life of being pregnant, I am doing W-2's and 1099's and year-end-reports for our two companys in 2006. We had the partnership AND then we incoportated so I have both set of books to close. Deadline for W-2's and 1099's is Wed the 31st so working frantically there.

THEN, I am starting to pack things up to move on the 10th.

Roy is busy working at the big house every spare minute he has. Pray for us. We have so much to do and life just keeps us hopping.

I'll try to update the house blog with before and after pictures as they come.

Latin Mealtimes

Did you know???

Mealtimes in Latin based cultures differ from those in the U.S. Most notably, they eat dinner much later. You won't see many diners in restaurants before 9:00 in the evening. Here's a typical Spanish (Spain) daily eating schedule:

8:00 - 9:30 Breakfast A cup of coffee and a pastry
10:30 - 12:30 Snack A pioece of toast and another cup of coffee.
1:00-2:00 Appetizers A variety of different tapas or small appetizer dishes.
2:00 - 3:00 Lunch This is the big meal of the day. It includes a soup or a salad, main course, a dessert or fruit and usually, a cup of coffee.
5:00 - 7:00 Afternoon Snack For children, cookies and a glass of chocolate milk. Adults enjoy yet another cup of coffee....
8:30-11:00 Dinner Much lighter than lunch - usually an omelet or a sandwich and a fruit or dessert. No coffee this time!

Baby Lujan

We finally got our ultrasound pictures from last week!
Here is our baby boy's beautiful face:
Is he going to be a thumbsucker?
Hope you can see the outline of his little foot here:
All is well. We are going to get another ultrasound next week with a different technician. We're cutting it close with the size of baby but hopefully will have a great experience!

Official Homeowners

Roy is in route to get our keys. Ahhhh. Tears of joy here. For all of your prayers, thank you isn't enough.

Funny, I don't even know what to say! Relief, excitement, thankfulness, gratefulness, fear are all on the surface.

So, we begin work immediately on the house. Our plan is to be moved completely moved in by March 1st as that is two weeks prior to our due date.

I am going to take my "little" family out to our new home and have take-out dinner at the built in kitchen table.

Almost There!

Okay, I wish it was finished but alas, we have to wait for "funding" and since it's a long weekend, that means Tuesday. All our papers are signed though so we are nearly there. They have keys waiting for us to pick up on Tuesday as soon as "they" get the go-ahead of funds transferring.

Wishing I had u/s pix to post but my doc's office couldn't get them to me the day of the scan so now I have to wait til Thu at my next appt to get the CD. Grrrr. On a side-note, I was NOT as happy with the OB's scan as I was with Fetal Foto's last pregnancy. I wish now we would have just gone with Fetal Foto's but hindsight is 20-20, right?

I do think this lad looks a lot like Paco did in the womb. It will be interesting to see if they look alike in real life!

All is well, for sure better, in my prego world. I need to rid my house of chocolate though. I'm a secret stasher of the good stuff and will be sad, I mean glad, when it's all gone. I'm sure it's not helping with the "trying to keep a healthy weight gain" part.

Sleep beacons me.

We Have a Date!

We close tomorrow, 1/11, at 1:00 p.m.

Praise the Lord!

Our Saga Continues

House News - I'm sorry to post this since I thought my next post would be announcing a closing date. We still don't have one. Things are progressing and we hope to hear something concrete SOON! I'm going a little stir crazy not knowing.

Doula Update - We have decided to look for another doula after finding out some things about this one that just weren't okay with us. Please pray this process goes smoothly and quickly as today is 31 weeks!

Baby News - We have our 3D ultrasound today with my parents and I am SOOOO excited to see our little man! Our appt isn't until 4:30 so I probably won't get back on to share any pictures today but I will - PROMISE!

Stresses I have right now -
Please pray for me as I found yesterday that I have to do year-end for two companies: Our partnership that ended June 30 and our cooperation that began July 1. This is two sets of W-2's, 1099's and all the federal, state and every other tax receiving entity we have.

Obviously, the house we're trying to buy.

Fears of labor & delivery.

LIFE in general.

Glucose Test, Doula & More

Week 30 is here and I have 70 days until my "due date." I am happy to post that I passed my three-hour glucose test. What a relief to have that behind me now.

We have enlisted the services of a doula to assist with this birth and hopefully a successful VBAC! She is very experienced and has experience with VBACs so that is a major plus. Seems that many doulas in our valley are due in February or March... interesting! My OB is supportive of us having a doula and said that research does show having one increases the chances of a successful VBAC.

We start our new birth classes next Wednesday in downtown Boise. Not the ideal location for us but we'll make a date of it! YEAH! We will learn about hypnobirthing and some relaxation techniques to help me get past my fears of a repeat situation of last time.

Roy is being so supportive, wanting and willing to do whatever I want to try to have a VBAC since this is our last baby. In the end, I just want to be able to say, "I tried everything I knew to try." If I end up having a c-section, that's okay; I just want to do all I can to have this baby the other way. (Yes, I'm scared either way!!!)

I hope my next post is announcing we got the loan and can close on our new house! I'll keep you posted!!!

First Day of School

Today is Paco's first day of preschool. I DROPPED him off at 9:00 and cried all the way home. What will I do with 3 hours wondering if he's okay??? His Daddy is proud and I am sad. My baby is growing up too fast.

Paco was very excited to go to escuela this morning. However, upon arriving and my needed departure, he thought it best if I just stay there with him. I did not cave and the profesora was great in distracting and redirecting him. Thankfully, we've been going to their Moma y Yo classes for over a year and he knows her so that made it easier.

Here is a summary of what preschool he's attending. People from all over drive to Caldwell for her classes!

The Discovering Languages - Spanish Immersion Preschool/Pre-K program is designed to teach children (ages 3-6) a foreign language through "total immersion," while they learn skills that will prepare them for kindergarten. These skills include pre-reading, pre-writing, pre-math, and social skills. Most importantly, children will learn a second language...Spanish!

Using "PlayImmersion," children are immersed in the Spanish language through songs, games, stories, play, crafts, nursery rhymes, computers, etc. The focus of this class will be conversational Spanish and basic vocabulary. Themes may include: animals, colors, numbers, alphabet, daily routine, family, food, weather, calendar, basic greetings, clothing, transportation, seasons, cultural traditions and ethnic holidays.

You can see more at Discovering Languages! It's a great resource for learning a second language.

Update After School - I showed up 15 mins early and watched my son have a blast with his classmates. He was smiling, laughing, singing - keeping the teachers are their toes, too! Profesora said he did great. He cried a bit when he realized I wasn't staying. She was able to distract him and he'd do fine until he "remembered" I wasn't there and would cry a bit and then was distracted by songs, games, etc. When I got there, he wasn't ready to leave but wanted me to stay with him and play. This was our trial day and the profesora and I agreed to bring him one day a week for January and then start February with the Tue/Thu schedule.

Next week I hope to be able to actually accomplish something in the time he's gone...sure Roy hopes so, too!

Go Broncos!

Boise State at the Fiesta Bowl!
Go Broncos!
Here is Paco in his much to small jersey that he insists on wearing for "the game!" I see a new jersey in his future, if I have to buy it myself!
